In 1993, Galenix started its business at Bordeaux University mainly
by providing contract pharmaceutical development services to the health
industry.
After 1999, the company's own research projects became more
important than contract development.
In parallel, a more formal organization
was set up with an Analytical Department (1995), a Regulatory Affairs Department
(1998), a new research organisation for market surveys and Drug Delivery, Galenix
Innovations (2000) and Galenix Inc. (2008).
2006 stands as the major year in Galenix's history for the Bristol-Myers
Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute full take over. With these facilities, Galenix has
broaden its portfolio of services, especially with the ability to produce European and US FDA
GMP clinical batches.
Today, the company runs three entities: Galenix Innovations*,
Galenix Pharma and Galenix Inc. with a highly qualified staff. There is a vast majority of
Post-Doc, PhD and Msc amongst the heads of departments, involved either in research or in development operations.
* Galenix Developpement and Galenix Innovations have merged under Galenix Innovations' entity.
